Rebecca James
Chief Executive Officer

Rebecca James was appointed to the position of Manager, Victorian office of Research Australia in December 2005. She is currently Chief Executive Officer. She has extensive experience working within government and has advised two Federal Health Ministers on Medicare and public health. She has worked in industry as a consultant and has been a member of Boards and Advisory Committees in health services and health policy. She was the inaugural Executive Officer of the Victorian Public Health Research and Education Council in 1999, and helped to establish Neurosciences Victoria in 2000. Her academic background is in economics, public policy and management.

Dr. Noel Chambers
Director Philanthropy

Noel has more than 15 years experience with the biotechnology sector in consulting, research, business development, and as board member and Chief Executive of listed and unlisted biotechnology companies.  Noel is currently a member of the Australian Government's Advisory Council on Intellectual Property and has been a long time supporter of Research Australia contributing significantly to our Beyond Discovery 2007 report.

Nancy Piche, Project Officer, Research Australia Philanthropy

Nancy Piche has worked for the Canadian Government as well as experience working in education and marketing. Her academic background consists of a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business & Trade from Griffith University, in addition to a post-graduate certificate in international business . Nancy was also the 2005 recipient of a Global Traders Award and a youth ambassador for Junior Team Canada, participating in a trade mission to Brazil.

Eileen Whitten
Office Manager

Eileen Whitten joined Research Australian in December 2007 in the role of Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer. She brings with her over 30 years experience in the corporate sector, television industry and an impressive skill-set. Eileen has a vast amount of expertise, complementing the Research Australia team.

Dr Gabby Fennessy
Policy and Strategy Program Manager

Dr Gabby Fennessy is the Manager, Policy and Strategy, Research Australia.  She has worked extensively in health and clinical environments including the Royal College of Nursing UK, British Medical Association, and UK National Health Service. In Australia she has worked with the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, Monash Institute of Health Services Research and Western Health. Her PhD is in evidence based practice and communities of practice in health care. She has a Master’s degree in health information management and is currently undertaking an MBA.

Kandy Musgrave
Events and Marketing Manager

Kandy joins has over 20 years experience in events, marketing and public relations having worked in Australia and the United Kingdom at The Australian Graduate School of Management, Alcatel, Shell Australia and Disney/Fox.   She has a Masters Degree in Management (Event Management) and a Graduate Diploma in Marketing.
