Mr Laurence Cox AO

Laurie Cox has been involved in Australian and international financial markets for over 40 years and has wide experience in all aspects of corporate finance and securities related advisory activities. He is particularly experienced in Australian equity capital markets having handled many assignments in the area of privatisation and new company flotation’s.
Prior to joining Macquarie Bank, Laurie Cox was Executive Chairman of the Potter Warburg Group of Companies in Australia and a Director of S G Warburg Securities of London.
He is immediate past Chairman of the Australian Stock Exchange Limited (ASX) 1989-1994 and was a director of ASX from its formation in 1987. He was also a member of the International Markets Advisory Board of the NASDAQ stock market, USA 1992-2001 and the Executive Committee of the Federation Internationale des Bourses de Valeurs 1990-1992. He was awarded the Order of Australia (AO) for services to the securities industry in 1996.
He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Australia Japan Business Co-operation Committee, Chairman of Transurban Group, SMS Management & Technology Ltd Murdoch Childrens Research Institute and a Director of Smorgon Steel Group Ltd.
