Professor Janet Hiller is
Associate Dean Research, Faculty of Health Sciences and Professor of Public
Health, Australian Catholic University (ACU).Â
She received her undergraduate education at the University of Melbourne,
MPH at the Hebrew University and a PhD in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins
University. Â
She spent 23 years at the
University of Adelaide engaged in broad public health activities but focusing
on health services research investigating preterm birth and antenatal screening,
and subsequently health technology assessment more broadly. Â
In 2011, Janet moved to Melbourne when
appointed to ACU. She is taking a leadership role in research development
within the Faculty of Health Sciences and across the university as a whole.
Janet has national policy roles advising the Australian government on health
technology assessment and undertakes research on disinvestment from health technologies
of questionable cost effectiveness, and direct to consumer marketing of
diagnostic tests.
