Professor Ken Smith, Director of WEHI and formerly Head of the Department of Medicine at Cambridge University, brings more than 30 years of experience as a clinician and internationally recognised research leader in immunology and immune-mediated disease. His work spans fundamental immunology through to translational research and clinical trials, and he has played a key role in fostering partnerships between academia, industry and emerging biotech. A Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences and a recipient of multiple research honours, Professor Smith brings a strong global perspective, deep scientific expertise and a longstanding commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
