Oluwanfunmilayo (Funmi) joined Research Australia in June 2026.

Funmi brings over two decades of health promotion and public health experience, including over a decade of dedicated experience in aged care, staff well-being, and health policy.

With a research background – PhD focused on enhancing the well-being of frontline care staff, and a master’s in Health Promotion and Public Health – Funmi brings comprehensive expertise in the research continuum, encompassing study design, funding, translation, and evaluation.

Her career spans roles from academia to various industry consultancies. She has a deep commitment to research, advocacy, and impactful policy development. Funmi has led several grassroots initiatives and has a background in international contexts. Passionate about creating effective, innovative policies, she believes in hearing diverse voices to craft solutions that truly work. Funmi’s experience in public health and research fuels a drive to ensure policies are not only well-designed but also successfully implemented, evaluated, and sustained.
